In the new teaser for Spencer, Kristen Stewart shines as Princess Diana. Spencer is directed by Pablo Larran, who directed Natalie Portman in another powerful performance in a true story in 2016’s Jackie.
Steven Knight wrote the screenplay for the picture, which follows in the footsteps of Robert Zemeckis’ Allied and David Cronenberg’s Eastern Promises.
Stewart is joined onscreen by a superb cast that includes Sally Hawkins, Timothy Spall, Jack Farthing, and Sean Harris.

The Spencer trailer, which was published on YouTube by Elevation Pictures, gets a great look at Stewart’s performance as Princess Diana, capturing not just the look but also the voice.
The film is set during an emotional Christmas holiday at the Sandringham estate in Norfolk, England, where Princess Diana decides to end her chilly marriage with Prince Charles due to suspicions of infidelity, a move that speaks to the film’s title because Spencer was Princess Diana’s maiden name.

Spencer has recently been making the rounds at film festivals, where Stewart’s performance has received critical acclaim.
From the teaser, it’s evident that Stewart transformed into the exact incarnation of Princess Diana for the part, which is a genuine credit to her talent given that Stewart revealed she accepted the role without having seen the script.
Of course, Stewart isn’t the first person to play Princess Diana in recent memory, as Emma Corrin did so in season 4 of The Crown. Stewart, on the other hand, appears to have acquired a distinct essence all her own.
Spencer, which will be released on November 5th, is a must-see for fans of Stewart’s outstanding performance.
