The story board
As filming on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 approaches, James Gunn storyboard is revealed. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set to hit theatres in May 2023, making it one of the most widely anticipated films on the MCU’s impending release schedule.
Because Gunn was sacked as director in 2018, the film has been the subject of some behind-the-scenes drama. He’s since been restored, and last year he even claimed that the script was already finished. Regardless, filming on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 will not begin until later in 2021.
The plot for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is unknown all we have is this James Gunn storyboard tweet, but all indications point to it being the final chapter for many of the characters.
Gunn has stated that he will not direct any more Guardians films after this, and Dave Bautista has stated that this will be his final performance as Drax.
The script has been regarded as highly emotional, with the death of a beloved character expected to be included. Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, and Dave Bautista will all reprise their roles as the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Gunn said he’s started storyboarding on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 just a few days ago, and now he’s provided a look at the process. Gunn shared a photo of a massive stack of storyboards on social media, explaining that they represent “12 pages of script & will serve as the foundation for this segment of the film.”
He confirmed that they’re all hand-drawn and that they’re from the last few days. “At this moment, designing the film like this is the most crucial part of my work,” Gunn remarked. You may read the rest of his post by clicking here.
That stack of storyboards had to be several times the length of the script, thus the fact that it just takes up 12 pages demonstrates how meticulous Gunn is in his pre-production work.
Because Gunn has to imagine several action sequences and a basic notion of what he wants the set to look like, storyboarding is likely to be an even more intensive process for a sci-fi film like Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
Though he’s already put in a lot of effort, he still has a long way to go when it comes to storyboarding the rest of the film.
Because Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 has been in development for quite some time, Gunn has already fleshed out a significant portion of the film.
Aside from the script and the ongoing storyboarding process, Gunn announced earlier this year that the soundtrack for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is already finished, which isn’t surprising given how serious he is about the music he chooses for his films.
He’s now going on to the next step of pre-production, bringing him even closer to filming. In other words, the third installment of the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise is finally coming together.
Knitted rendition of groot
James Gunn shared an Instagram photo of his lovely knitted rendition of Groot, a fan favorite creature. Following the success of his newest comic-book adaptation, The Suicide Squad, which received positive reviews, the Guardians of the Galaxy 3 filmmaker has had a solid year thus far.
The Suicide Squad still has a very outstanding 91 percent on Rotten Tomatoes, keeping its certified fresh rating more than a month after its debut.
Gunn’s Marvel Cinematic Universe premiere Guardians of the Galaxy, on the other hand, is still his highest-rated directorial credit, with a score of 92 percent.
After a series of delays, Gunn’s next project, Guardians of the Galaxy 3, is currently in pre-production and will see the return of everyone’s favorite crew of intergalactic misfits.
Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, and Pom Klementieff will all reprise their roles as Rocket Racoon and Groot, respectively, with Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel. After previously revealing that both the soundtrack and script for Guardians 3 were complete, Gunn recently stated that he had begun storyboarding the picture.
The third episode of the ever-popular Marvel Cinematic Universe trilogy, Guardians of the Galaxy 3, will be released in May, although little is known about the plot at this moment.
Now, Gunn has shared a charming shot of his little knitted version of Groot on Instagram. Gunn revealed that it was a kind gift from his brother-in-law, who had built it for him when they were playing Mafia. Take a look at Gunn’s post below:
Gunn is no stranger to social media, and his tweet was a welcome reference to the Guardians franchise. As a result, fans had varied opinions about this new Groot, with some calling it “terrifying.”
Following the events of the first Guardians of the Galaxy film, in which he sacrificed himself to defend the Guardians, Groot has had a number of various versions throughout the MCU.
Groot was reborn as a sapling, growing from the beloved Baby Groot to the angsty-adolescent Teenage Groot during the course of Guardians of the Galaxy 2 and both Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.
While Knitted Groot is unlikely to be a new style for the beloved tree monster in the future film, Gunn did reveal that moviegoers have seen the last of ‘Adult Groot,’ at least for the time being.
While the release of Guardians of the Galaxy 3 is still a long way off, fans will not have to wait long for another MCU appearance from Peter Quill and the gang, as many of the cast members are set to star alongside Chris Hemsworth’s Thor in Taika Waititi’s Thor: Love and Thunder, which is set to hit theatres next year.
Rumors have started to surface that Diesel may be stepping out of the recording booth for this film, with Groot perhaps taking on a human form for a section of the film.
While fans will have to wait and see what the future holds for Groot, Gunn is notoriously active on social media, so expect lots of updates and hints as work on Guardians of the Galaxy 3 ramps up.
