Vaccination is important to reduce the spread of coronavirus. This Virus has mutated itself and caused destruction over the world. Scientists and doctors are researching medication and various vaccines to hold on to this virus. A vaccine for any disease takes time to get developed approximately 18 years which includes animal trials, human trials, clinical trials on a large scale, observations, and approval from various health institutions. To control the spread of this virus the World Health Organisation (WHO) has permitted certain vaccines for emergency use. In India, there are two made-in-India vaccines that got emergency use authorization from the Indian Council of Medical Research(ICMR) and the Indian Medical Association (IMA).
Covid Shield has been developed by the Oxford Astrazeneca and is being manufactured by the Serum Institute of India and Covaxin by Bharat Biotech International Ltd. based in Hyderabad in association with the ICMR and National Institute of Virology. Covaxin has been in controversy and some of them have said it is being manufactured for the election purposes of the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Russia took initiative and to boost the vaccination drive in India Sputnik-V has launched which is 91% effective against the coronavirus according to Russian surveys.
There are many incidents that have happened due to which vaccine hesitancy is quite obvious.
During the vaccination drive in a government hospital of Uttar Pradesh, three women got vaccinated with the rabies vaccine out of three one died due to the irresponsibility of the medical staff. In Bihar, a nurse in a vaccination center injected an empty syringe without a vaccine after which that nurse got terminated from vaccination duty when a video went viral against her.
About 2000 people were injected with fake Covid vaccine in Mumbai, and another 500, some of them disabled may have suffered the same fate in a second major city. Police in Mumbai said that about 2000 people who thought they were being vaccinated were in fact injected with the Saline solution. Ten people have been arrested, including 2 doctors.
Some of the incidents mentioned above don’t even get the media coverage and there must be many more incidents of which we are not aware.
The Central Government of India is responsible for each and every aspect of this vaccination drive and should focus on developing health infrastructure, open reliable vaccination centers and take strict measures against the irresponsible behavior of medical staff and people who fool in the name of vaccination.
To boost the vaccination drive and make this the largest actual drive, the government has to be very focused and has to deal with the availability crisis by providing raw materials for vaccine manufacturing to the companies. Implementation of proper guidelines and strictness by the government is necessary because people are still taking things lightly.
Vaccination is the only way to protect ourselves from this virus, once you get vaccinated the vaccine will make antibodies and make our immune system stronger which will help us to fight against the virus.
One should not believe in rumors, if anyone has any kind of doubts or questions regarding vaccines should consult the doctors, beware of the fake doctors, centers, and certification.
