Created by Bisha. K Ali and based on Ms. Marvel by Gerry Conway and John Buscema.
The filming began in early November 2020 before concluding in Thailand in May 2021.
The show follows the story of a young Pakistani American teenager, Kamala Khan (played by Iman Vellani), who like in the comics gains superhuman abilities and takes over the mantle of Ms. Marvel, her idol.
The show is said to run for six episodes and a lot of the plots and details are still underway and not released.
Ms. Marvel and Hawkeye were both set to release in the latter half of this year. They would have joined Disney+’s live-action Marvel Cinematic Universe series in 2021 alongside shows like WandaVision, Loki and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.
Disney studios have given the official release date for Hawkeye last week but are yet to give an update for Ms. Marvel.
Although Disney is yet to give any information, it is safe to say that at the point with Disney’s heavy schedule it will release in early 2022, but this is still a titbit and no firm word has gone out.
Kamala Khan has yet to debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but her franchise is already being planned.
According to Marvel Studios, Vellani is said to reprise her role as Kamala in Nia DaCosta’s upcoming Captain Marvel sequel titled “The Marvels”
Brie Larson as Captain Marvel, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, and Vellani as Ms. Marvel are all announced to be in the film.
The Marvel’s is said to release somewhere in November of 2022, which gives Ms. Marvel a lot of time to release and settle.
Ms. Marvel is very new and unique to Disney+ as well as the Marvel Cinematic Universe as it will be following an all-new character. All the live-action films released this year were pre-known heroes fleshed out into their own series, and then introduced characters.
This new series is going to give the fans an opportunity to know Ms. Marvel better before she goes on into a full-length feature film.
